Jishou No.1 middle school was founded in 1955 and named as Jishou Middle School of Hunan Province at the beginning. Jishou No.1 middle school was rated as the excellent unit of national cultural construction front in 1960, and was recognized as the provincial demonstration senior middle school of Hunan Province and the Modern Educational Technology Experimental School of primary and secondary schools of Hunan Province in 2007.
